Profile

Zaiviji Ismail was appointed Director of Cement Industries of Malaysia Berhad ("CIMA") since 17 February 2012 and was appointed Chairman of CIMA on 1 April 2018.

Zaiviji is an Alumni Member of the Cranfield University, member of the International Association of Non-Executive Directors and Associate Member of Malaysian Alliance of Corporate Directors. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Cranfield University England.

Zaiviji has vast management experience providing fiscal, strategic and operational leadership in challenging situations.

He started his career with Bank Negara Malaysia from 1979 to 1983 and later joined Malaysia Building Society Berhad in 1984 to 1989.

Zaiviji joined Shell Malaysia and had served in various positions in Malaysia for a period from 1990 to 2001. He was then posted to Oman to be the General Manager of the Retail Business in Shell Oman Marketing in October 2001 to January 2004. In February 2004, he was posted to Pakistan to be the General Manager of the Retail Business in Shell Pakistan Limited before taking on the Cluster General Manager's role for both Oman and Pakistan. In August 2006, he was appointed Managing Director of Shell Pakistan Limited and at the same time was named the Chairman of Shell Companies in Pakistan.

He is also Chairman of Uniquest Infra Ventures Private Limited, India.

SHARUDDIN OMAR HASHIM

Sharuddin Omar Hashim was appointed Managing Director of Cement Industries of Malaysia Berhad on 14 May 2018.

Sharuddin was previously the Group Chief Financial Officer (GCFO) of PETRONAS Lubricants International Sdn Bhd ("PETRONAS Lubricants") and has had a distinguished 20-year career at PETRONAS where he held several key roles mainly in Finance spanning Finance Operations, Corporate Finance, Treasury, Tax, Corporate Governance, Assurance, Reporting and Risk Management in both local and regional capacities.

As GCFO of PETRONAS Lubricants, Sharuddin successfully implemented and enhanced a robust governance framework as well as led a global ERP-SAP roll out for the company. Prior to this, he held various Chief Financial Officer roles in PETRONAS group of companies including Egyptian Liquefied Natural Gas Sdn Bhd based in Cairo, PT PETRONAS Niaga Indonesia based in Jakarta and Asean Bintulu Fertiliser (ABF) Sdn Bhd based in Bintulu, Sarawak. Sharuddin also sat on the boards of PETRONAS Lubricants's operating companies in India, Italy, Africa, North America and Argentina.

Sharuddin, who started his career as a Senior Analyst, Audit/Assurance Division at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu in Perth, holds a Masters in Business Administration from University Utara Malaysia and a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from University of New South Wales, Sydney.

He is also Member of Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, Malaysian Institute of Accountants, and Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia.

DATO' MOHD IZANI GHANI

Dato' Mohd Izani Ghani was appointed Director of Cement Industries of Malaysia Berhad on 15 January 2019.

On 1 January 2019, he was appointed Executive Director of UEM Group Berhad (UEM Group) and re-designated as the Managing Director on 1 August 2019. He has over 27 years of investment and management experience and prior to joining UEM Group, Dato' Mohd Izani was the Executive Director, Investments at Khazanah Nasional Berhad (Khazanah) where he oversaw its Turkey Regional Office. He was formerly Khazanah's Chief Financial Officer where under his leadership, the Government's strategic investment arm issued many landmark sukuk transactions including exchangeable and Social Impact Sukuk. He had also previously served at Putrajaya Holdings Sdn Bhd and Renong Group.

Dato' Mohd Izani is an alumnus of the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), class of 1991. He subsequently obtained his professional qualification from Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and was conferred fellowship in 2000.

DATO' MOHAMED NASRI SALLEHUDDIN

Dato' Mohamed Nasri Sallehuddin was appointed to the Board of Cement Industries of Malaysia Berhad on 1 June 2016.

He also sits on the Board of UEM Group Berhad, Telekom Malaysia Berhad, PT Lintas Marga Sedaya in Indonesia and is the Chairman of Taman Tugu Project Development Sdn Bhd.

Dato' Mohamed Nasri is the Executive Director of Corporate & Support Services, Company Secretary and Head of Legal at Khazanah Nasional Berhad which he joined on 1 September 2009. Prior to that, he was a partner with a leading law firm in Malaysia, advising clients on corporate law and the legal aspects of corporate restructuring, take-overs and mergers. Dato' Nasri was actively involved with the firm's expansion in South East Asia and Middle-East.

Dato' Mohamed Nasri obtained his Bachelor of Laws (Hons) degree from University of Wales, Aberystwyth, United Kingdom in 1993. He sat for his bar examination in 1994 and was admitted to Gray's Inn as a barrister-at-law in 1995. Having completed his pupillage, he was admitted to the High Court of Malaya as an advocate and solicitor in 1996. He also holds an MBA from University of Strathclyde, Scotland. Dato' Mohamed Nasri was voted as Malaysia In-House Lawyer of the Year at the Asian Legal Business Malaysia Law Awards 2014.

LEE LIN CHIEN

Lee Lin Chien was appointed Director of Cement Industries of Malaysia Berhad on 16 January 2018.

He holds a B.Sc (Hons) Degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Manchester, United Kingdom and is a member of Society of Petroleum Engineers, USA.

Lee is a mechanical engineer by training with extensive working experience in oil and gas industry. Most part of his career had been with the Shell group of companies. He had worked for about 15 years with the Shell Refining Co Berhad followed by a 3 years assignment in Shell Marketing Distribution Division as Senior Distribution Manager. He had been directly involved with Shell's various transformation initiatives like business re-engineering and company-wide re-organization reviews. He acquired extensive international work experience during his 3-years stint with Shell International Petroleum Co. based in London. He later held several senior leadership roles at Shell's Regional and Global business organization including one as its Head of Global Operations Excellence/HSSE team. After retiring from Shell, he worked in Singapore for 5 years as a member of Vopak Terminals Singapore's senior leadership team, accountable for management of oil terminal storage business in Singapore and Pengerang Malaysia.

Currently, he is an Associate/Senior Consultant of a consultancy firm, specializing in providing high end management and technical consultancy services to the oil, gas and chemical process industries.

ZAIDA KHALIDA SHAARI

Zaida Khalida Shaari was appointed Director of Cement Industries of Malaysia Berhad on 18 March 2019.

She is a barrister-at law and a member of the Honourable Society of Gray's Inn, London, having graduated with LLB (Hons) from University of Warwick, United Kingdom. She also holds a Master in Business Administration from University of Strathclyde, United Kingdom.

Zaida previously served Khazanah Nasional Berhad ("Khazanah") as Executive Director of Investments, the strategic investment fund of the Government of Malaysia. She joined Khazanah in January 2007 as a Senior Vice President of Investments and in April 2009, she was appointed as Director of Investments. Zaida oversees the real estate and education investments of Khazanah. She has been involved in various aspects of the Iskandar development since the commencement of the project.

Zaida began her career in 1991 in legal practice with Messrs Zain & Co. She joined Permodalan Nasional Berhad ("PNB") in 1997 as legal advisor to the corporate finance group and moved on to head the Legal and Compliance Department. In 2006, she was appointed as Company Secretary of PNB.

She is also Director of UEM Sunrise Berhad.
