2017



  • 11 October 2017 - Negeri Sembilan Cement Industries Sdn Bhd (NSCI), a 100% subsidiary of Cement Industries Malaysia Berhad (CIMA) signed a Term Sheet agreement with TNB Repair and Maintenance Sdn Bhd (TNB Remaco), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), to generate electricity from waste heat from the NSCI's plants on a Build, Own, Maintain & Transfer (BOMT) basis.

    Under the term sheet agreement, TNB REMACO will Develop, Design, Construct, Commission, Operate, Maintain and Raise Financing for the Waste Heat Recovery Power Plant (WHRPP). The WHRPP will have a combined power generation capability of 23 Megawatt (MW) by recovering the exhausted waste heat from the cement plants in Bahau, Negeri Sembilan and Bukit Keteri, Perlis. The project will have an estimated total value of RM200 million with capability in reducing up to 9% – 12% of NSCI's electricity cost.

    The WHRPP will contribute towards green energy and energy efficiency through reduction of carbon emission as well as competitive advantage through energy cost savings for NSCI cement plants.

2014

  • 24 November 2014 - The second production line at Bahau plant (or commonly known as “Bahau Line 2”) which is operated by Negeri Sembilan Cement Industries (NSCI), a subsidiary of CIMA was officially launched by YAB Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Mohamad Haji Hassan, Menteri Besar of Negeri Sembilan Darul Khusus.

  • 1 July 2014 - CIMA Internal Reorganization : Streamlining operating structure of Pemasaran Simen Negara Sdn Bhd and Cimaco Quarry Sdn Bhd transferred to Negeri Sembilan Industries Sdn Bhd and I-Mix Concrete Industries and Cimaco Readymix Sdn Bhd transferred to Unipati Concrete Sdn Bhd.
  • 17 March 2014 at NSCI, Bahau - The Completion Ceremony of the Model Project  For Alternative Fuel Combustion in the Cement Industry officiated by YBhg. Datuk Seri Nurmala Abd. Rahim, Secretary General, Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities Malaysia

2013

  • Negeri Sembilan Cement Industries Sdn Bhd (NSCI-NS Plant), was awarded the ISO OHSAS 18001:2007 Occupational Health and Safety Management System Health and Security Jobs accreditation from SIRIM QAS International Sdn Bhd (SIRIM QAS) on 19 April 2013.
  • Negeri Sembilan Cement Industries Sdn Bhd (NSCI Perlis Plant) was awarded the ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System Accreditation from SIRIM QAS International Sdn Bhd on 15 November 2013.
  • On 3 September 2013, the RM800mil Bahau Line 2nd production was launched with commissioning of two kiln and total of 260,326 tons of clinker has been produced as at end of November 2013.

2011

  • CIMA Move Forward with the Second Clinker Production Line of 5000 tpd at Bahau, Negeri Sembilan
  • Negeri Sembilan Cement Industries Sdn Bhd (NSCI), a subsidiary of CIMA signed a turnkey contract agreement with SINOMA International Engineering Co. Ltd for the NSCI Bahau Second Clinker Production Line of 5000 tonne per day on 26 May 2011. The project commenced on 30 June 2012 with it site leveling work started on August 2011.
  • NSCI was awarded the certification ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System from SIRIM QAS International Sdn Bhd. NS EcoCrete LH, was awarded the ECO-LABEL Product by SIRIM.
  • Signing of MoU The Model Project for Alternative Fuel Combustion in the Cement Industry between Japan: NEDO Malaysia MPOB, MRB, MPIC (witness).

  • PSN launched the NS Composite Cement and Blue Lion Cement on 22 January 2010.

  • Received ISO 9001: 2008 for NSCI (Perlis Plant)

2009

  • CIMA acquired 70% of shares in KUAD from UEM Group Berhad on 9 December 2009.

  • On 6 October 2009, CIMA acquired the 49% shares in Unipati Concrete Sdn Bhd from UEM Builders.

2008

  • Acquired 70% stake in I-Mix Concrete Sdn Bhd on 8 August 2008 under Readymixed Division for consideration of RM15 million.
  • CIMA acquired 40% shares in Cimaco Quarry Sdn Bhd from Liew Saik Wai Brothers Sdn Bhd on 1 December 2008.

  • On 13 November 2008, CIMA was officially delisted from the Main Board of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad. The ESOS Scheme lapsed on 13 November 2008 following the delisting and privatization of the Company.
  • 9 September 2008, the Company received a take over offer to acquire the remaining shares not held by UEM Group Berhad at 6.26 per share. Level of acceptance was 97.72%.

  • The Securities Commission has approved the issuance of Private Debt Securities by NSCI to refinance its existing RM360 million Bridging loan facility on 27 February 2004.

  • On 13 August 2004, NSCI issued the Murabahah Commercial Paper with nominal value of RM130 million under MUNIF and BAIDS with nominal value of RM200 million

  • On 27 March 2004, NSCI repaid the Bridge loan via own cash of RM30 million and RM330 million via MUNIF and BAIDS.

  • Embarking on an alternative fuel programme to maintain operation efficiency by investment in engineering facilities for both NSCI’s plants to accommodate utilization of paddy husk and used tyres respectively.

2004

  • The Employee Share Option Scheme was approved by the shareholders at an EGM on 4 March 2004 and by Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad on 9 April 2004.

  • On 11 June 2004, the ESOS were granted to the employees in CIMA Group of Companies.

2003

  • CIMA and CB Bags Sdn Bhd (“CB Bags”) established a JV company, Prestige Packages (Perlis) Sdn Bhd (“Prestige Packages”) where CIMA has 30% stake in the new company.

2002

  • CIMA transferred its cement plants and related assets to NSCI and its transportation – related assets to Pemasaran Simen Negara Sdn Bhd. Both agreements were signed on 2 November 2002.

2001

  • CIMA acquired 35% equity in NSCI from Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri, Negeri Sembilan (PKNNS) making it wholly-owned subsidiary of CIMA in April 2001. With this acquisition strengthens CIMA’s position as the 2nd largest cement producer in the country. Negeri Sembilan Cement Industries Sdn Bhd (NSCI) operates a 1.2 million tonnes integrated cement plant in Bahau, Negeri Sembilan.

  • Converted ISO 9002 certification to ISO 9001:2000 for CIMA and Group of Companies.

2000

  • Embarked on programme to obtain certification of IS0 9002 and has been awarded on November 2000.

  • Began commercial production of “NS Cement” in March 1998

  • CIMA entered JV (CIMA 35%, Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Sembilan 35% and Halla Corporation 30%) to build a cement plant in Bahau.

1994

  • The company has increased its rated capacity from 1.0 million to 1.4 million tones clinker per annum.
  • Kuang Depot completed in June 1994 as cost of RM18 million.
  • Acquired 51% stake in Unipati Concrete Sdn Bhd in March 1994.
  • Purchase of additional 111 wagons from China making total wagons at 280 units.Capacity at 44,000 tonne per month.

1990

  • United Engineers (Malaysia) Berhad acquired 53.9% stake in CIMA from PKNP

  • Line 2, supplied by Kobe Steel Japan, commenced with production capacity of 2,000 tonne/ day

  • CIMA was listed on the Main Board of KLSE in June 1984

  • Pemasaran Simen Negara was incorporated on 17 July 1985 as a joint marketing company for CIMA and Kedah Cement Sdn Bhd

1977

  • Line 1 supplied by KHD Germany starts its operation with 1,200 tonne / day.
  • CIMA became a public company with name Cement Industries of Malaysia Berhad on 5 May 1977.
  • Major shares were held by Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Perlis.
